Flathead Catfish

Flathead Catfish are the real trophies of the rivers and lakes. Flatheads in our waters can be caught surpassing 80 lbs. They are mostly solitary, and require a lot of patience at times to catch. Live bait and night fishing are the name of the game during summer, but giant Flatheads can be caught on cutbait and during the day during the spring and fall. Flatheads go mostly dormant during the winter months. The fight of a giant Flathead is hard to forget, with deep powerful runs. In Tennessee a trophy Flathead is a fish that is 36” long or more.
